Statue of a Woman: My First Major Magazine Publication with Marie Claire

There is a beautiful, quiet magic that happens when high-fashion tailoring meets the raw, unyielding elements of the California coast. When Marie Claire Nigeria published our latest editorial story, Statue of a Woman, it felt like a gentle milestone in my journey—a reminder of why I fell in love with this art form. Captured against the fading warmth of an autumn afternoon along the bluffs of the Pacific Palisades, California, this feature is an intimate homage to texture, silhouette, and light.

More than just a magazine layout, this publication represents the exact philosophy I bring to my couples as an editorial fashion wedding photographer—the desire to slow down, honor the design details, and capture milestones that feel entirely honest, elegant, and human.

Jaela’s Style Narrative Look One: Tailored Edge

Jaela opened the editorial with a sharp, sophisticated edge on the bluffs, wearing a beautifully structured Ganni grey herringbone suit paired with rugged Frye short boots. The classic, crisp tailoring of the suit stood out beautifully against the earth tones of the coast, completed flawlessly with a pair of statement Ferezzi jade earrings and a Cromia Italian leather bag.

Look Two: Romantic Textures Next, Jaela transitioned into a softer silhouette that played with movement, wearing a sculptural Jason Wu collective tie-detail sweater paired gracefully with a fluid Baum und Pferdgarten Shari skirt. Grounded by Sam Edelman black boots and finished with elegant Ferezzi earrings, the look felt effortlessly romantic in the shifting afternoon light.

Look Three: High-Fashion Chartreuse Jaela’s final look was a stunning study in bold color—a vibrant, lime green Baruni Theresa midi shirt dress. The striking color palette was elevated by architectural Angullia Pony BW Mashizan heels and geometric Ferezzi earrings, catching our editorial flash work with incredible graphic impact.

Deasj’s Style Narrative

Look Four: Dramatic Volumes Deasj began her story commanding the coastal trails with a statuesque elegance, enveloped in the heavy, sweeping texture of the Avril coat by Lalo Tbilisi over a beautifully structured Baruni Mary dress. Paired with understated C.Paravano flats and delicate Ferezzi earrings, the volume of the outerwear became the perfect element to interact with the ocean breeze.

Look Five: The Avant-Garde Silhouette For her second look, Deasj transitioned into a breathtaking, minimalist Rejina Pyo printed Dylan dress. Grounded by rugged Frye Veronica Harness short boots, this outfit beautifully bridged the gap between fine-art luxury design and the raw, unpolished terrain of the California bluffs.

Look Six: Monochromatic Luxury We closed Deasj’s visual diary with an intimate study in monochrome tones, styling her in a rich, purple Baruni Ausha shirt and trouser set. Layered beneath a cozy, textured Lalo cardigan sweater and accented with Ferezzi Louise earrings, this look brought a beautiful feeling of calm, intentional luxury to the sunset frames.

Bringing the Eye of an Editorial Fashion Wedding Photographer to Your Celebration

Design-forward couples often ask how these high-fashion editorial worlds cross over into a real wedding day. To me, they are entirely the same. A wedding day isn’t a rigid performance or a race against a clock; it is a living, breathing story that deserves an artist’s restraint and an eye for composition.

When you bring a magazine-level sensibility to your wedding celebration, the entire experience transforms:

  • Natural, Unforced Direction: Guiding you instinctively so you feel completely at ease in front of the lens—never stiff, over-posed, or artificial.

  • Sartorial Reverence: Meticulously honoring the textures, the silhouette drape, and the bespoke design choices you’ve made for your wardrobe.

Atmospheric Storytelling: Allowing the deep shadows, the ambient architectural light, and the quiet, unscripted glances to form an intentional visual legacy.

If you are currently planning a design-forward celebration and are looking for an intentional approach to your imagery, I invite you to explore The Experience to see how we can intentionally document your day.

A Shared Creative Vision

Seeing this multi-look visual diary come to life in the pages of Marie Claire Nigeria was an incredible honor. For couples looking for an editorial fashion wedding photographer to thoughtfully document their celebration in Southern California or worldwide, I hope this serves as inspiration for how your imagery can hold the weight of fine art while feeling entirely like you.
